The running Jobs to which you have been assigned are shown in your Jobs list. However, if another user has that same document open elsewhere in the workflow (e.g. if a reviewer is looking at items that you have committed for review), you will not be able to open the Job.
Document is shown as Open
While a Job is open, the Edit button will update to display Open with a warning triangle.
This is because:
- the Job may be open by your user in another browser tab, meaning that you can open it in this browser tab, too
- your browser may have crashed/restarted, and the Job session is still open by your user, meaning that you can re-open it
NOTE: In all cases where a Job is open, the button will display warning triangle/Open. It is possible for a single user to click that button and open a Job in two tabs/browsers at once. It is not possible, however, to open a Job that a different user has open.
List of open Jobs/Documents
Any Jobs or Master Documents you have open will be listed under the User Menu > Opened Projects/Jobs, as shown.
Clicking a Job from this list will open it directly in your current browser tab. If you have had to restart your browser, the Job session will remain open, and you can pick up where you left off via this menu.
NOTE: If you do not have the Opened Project/Jobs sub-menu, then somebody else has the job/document open.
NOTE: If the Job session is left idle for 2 hours, the session will end, losing all unsaved changes in the document. Therefore, if you do experience technical difficulties, please try to log back in during that time window in order to save any changes made.
Open Job Failed
If the Job is open by another user (or by your own user, but in a different browser), you will receive an Open Job Failed dialog, with the details of the user in it.
You can then contact that user and ask them to close the Job, if needs be.
