This lesson is about how to manually create a project in one2edit™ v4 (i.e. without the use of the Project-Creation Assistant).
NOTE: This lesson assumes that you have uploaded a zip file of your InDesign® Package to your one2edit asset space. If you have uploaded the package, but it is not in a zip file, simply skip the step on extracting a zip file. If you have not uploaded anything, please see the lesson on uploading files to your one2edit Asset Project.
Open the Asset Browser
Click Assets in the main navigation menu to open the Asset Browser.
The Asset Browser grants access to your one2edit™ Asset Project, to which you can upload your own documents and files.
Extract the ZIP file
Locate your uploaded zip file, select it, and click Extract Zip.
This will extract the compressed document package to a new sub-folder.
NOTE: If you have not already uploaded a zip file containing your InDesign® package, then please refer to the appropriate lesson in this Knowledge Base.
Open the new Folder
Double-click the new folder to open it, or select it in the folder tree.
Check for InDesign Package Folders
When a package is created in Adobe® InDesign®, all images linked in the document are copied into a Links folder, and fonts are copied to a Document fonts folder.
If these folders do not exist, you may not have been sent a full InDesign package, and you may find that images and/or fonts are missing from your project. Please re-export your InDesign package if you feel that these folders should be present.
NOTE: The package may also contain an IDML file, and a text file containing printing instructions. However, the important items for creating a project in one2edit™ are the INDD file, the Links folder and the Document fonts folder.
NOTE: The Document fonts folder is only required if the fonts used in the document are not uploaded centrally as a Font Package.
Create a Project from the InDesign® Document
- Select a target folder in the one2edit™ Projects area.
- Click Link Project in the option menu of the INDD file.
This will create a one2edit project in your selected Project folder using your InDesign document.
NOTE: A warning will appear if no target folder is selected in the Projects area.
NOTE: If the INDD file has already been linked to a project from a one2editFS Asset Project, then the Link Project option will not appear in the option menu.
